Dress to Impress

We would like to thank everyone who came out to our event!  Here is the presentation that wasn’t cooperating.

It is important to have a wardrobe that is appropriate and flexible.

The first step in building a wardrobe is to learn to dress for your shape. This website shows you the Do’s and Don’ts for your shape. As you read through this material, take notes. You will need them later.

Dress for your Shape

Now that you know what works with your shape, it’s time to clean out those closets! This might take some time if your closet is anything like mine. As you are removing the items get rid of anything that does not fit, or that is uncomfortable, also anything that was in the Don’ts section from above.

So now it’s time to build a functional wardrobe.

Many already know what a capsule wardrobe is, for those who don’t, let’s take a look.

Capsule video

This company offers an app which will help you build a capsule, but you can find many examples online for free such as:      Capsule Wardrobe / Men     and   Capsule Wardrobe / Women  These sites are just a few of the hundreds of sites I found, so just google and search until you find one that works! Many have check list that you can print, or just jot down a list of the needed items, you’ll use it later.

Okay so now that you know how to dress for your shape, and how to build a wardrobe, there’s only one thing left to do, GO SHOPPING!

DRESS TO IMPRESS5Your first stop??? The pile of clothes you removed from your closet, you might be surprised to find that you already own some of the items on your list. Pull out any accessories you may own and check them off your list as well. Once you have completed this task, you are ready for the real shopping. Take your list of remaining needed items and hit your favorite retailer. If you are on a budget check out your local thrift stores, just be sure to thoroughly check the items for spots or other issues.

Make a special section in your closet for the “Capsule Items” this will make getting ready easy and quick!

I hope we have inspired you to “Dress to Impress”

Thank you.
