Connors Appoints New VP

Mrs. Shirley Twilley has accepted the position of Vice President of Fiscal Services at Connors State College. Her appointment to this position will begin March 5, 2012.  “With 20 years of experience in higher education financial accounting and management, Shirley is exceptionally qualified for this position.  She has proven herself to be someone who leads with poise and is committed to excellence in her work,” said President of Connors State College, Dr. Tim Faltyn. Twilley graduated from ORU in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 2002 in the State of Oklahoma and her professional memberships include Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants and Association of Finance Professionals. Twilley started her career in higher education in 1992 at Oral Roberts University. While at ORU she held positions in Student Accounts, as Mabee Center Business Manager,  Assistant Controller and Controller. She came to Connors as Controller in 2010 and has been interim Vice President of Fiscal Services for us in addition to her Controller duties since September 2011.

 In this new role, Twilley will report directly to the President and is responsible for overseeing and managing the finance, audit and budget functions for the college as well as the Financial Aide, Bursar, Payroll, Business office, maintenance, custodial, grounds, food service, the Bookstore and related college auxiliary areas. “I am very excited to be working alongside of Dr. Faltyn and the executive team at Connors. I have had the privilege of working at Connors State College for the past two years and continue to enjoy the excitement and energy that being part of higher education brings. I believe that Connors has a very exciting future becoming the premiere college in eastern Oklahoma and I am honored to be a part of that future, “said Twilley. “She has embraced our vision for the college and has worked her way into being an effective member of my leadership team. She loves the work and the direction of the college. It shows in her can do attitude as well as her interactions with the people on and off campus,” said Faltyn

Connors State College conducted an open search and selection process that included representation from all functions on campus with added emphasis on those areas that deal directly with the VPFS. Each candidate was brought to campus for multiple interviews and a campus tours.
