The CSC library offers  instructional services aimed at helping users become more proficient at identifying, locating, and accessing print and electronic information resources.

The librarian can customize the instruction to student projects.

What can Library Instruction cover?

• Orientation to the library’s collections and services
• Choosing the best research tools for a project
• Refining a research question
• Developing effective keyword searching strategies for databases
• Utilizing advanced database searching strategies
• Recognizing the differences between popular and scholarly publications
• Citing sources in APA or MLA style

When are library instruction sessions available?

During regular library hours:

M-We 8:00am-8:30pm
Th-Fr 8:00am-4:30pm

M-Th 8:00am-8:30pm (Warner
F 8:00am-4:30pm

Where does the instruction take place?

Warner or Muskogee libraries
A campus lab scheduled by the instructor or the librarian

How long are instruction sessions?

45 minutes to an hour for a complete session
15-20 minutes for a limited overview of a specific database

Please schedule at least one week in advance of the date you would prefer. Dates less than a week in advance are possible. Please contact Ona to check.
Please schedule within a few weeks of when a research project is due for maximum benefit.
